Fall Intensive in Arizona 21-Day Course in Primitive Skills & Bushcraft October 30-November 19 2005 Looking for an intensive immersion into the wilds using primitive living skills? Then come join us for three exciting weeks of hands-on learning and exploration of the high-desert landscape of Northern Arizona. Held at our outfitted basecamp near Flagstaff which overlooks the Painted Desert and San Francisco Mountains. Students will gain practical experience with a variety of traditional skills while living in the wilderness for 21 days. Topics covered: Wild food harvesting, braintan buckskin, primitive firemaking, stone tools, shelters, mammal tracking, traditional pottery, Southwest natural history, wilderness cooking, navigation, Southwest archeology & native cultures, primitive fishing, and more. We will also take a short fieldtrip to some spectacular prehistoric ruins to better understand the context of the skills we are learning. The last five days are spent on a Walkabout applying our skills while relying on a minimum of modern gear. Cost: $1500 includes meals, rustic lodging, instruction, and fieldtrips.
